Stylish Safeguards

Three floors, three staircases, and a foyer the family did not want to change in this McLean home.

We used white retractable gates at the top and bottom of the foyer staircase and on the basement stairs, mounted on oversized post clamps where the newel posts were too wide for a standard bracket. On the second floor, where the hallway is narrower, hardware-mounted stairway gates on custom post mounts hold up better to daily traffic.

The stone fireplace got ivory hearth padding so the color matches the stone rather than the usual gray. The kitchen doorway got a retractable gate, cabinets and the liquor cabinet got latches, the interior door got a door monkey, and the coffee table got ivory corner cushions. In the nursery, the Nanit monitor was mounted to the wall beside the crib with its cord managed.

Every gate, anchor, and latch we install is covered by our 5-year warranty. McLean is in our Northern Virginia service area; schedule a consultation or read about Custom Child Proofing.
