Most of our Maryland work is in detached single-family homes — colonials, split-levels, and ramblers built from the 1950s through the 1990s — along with newer townhomes and new construction homes in close-in Montgomery County. Each layout has its own set of hazards, and the plan changes with it.
Multiple stairways
Colonials and split-levels often have two or three sets of stairs, including open basement stairs off the kitchen. We plan gate placement for every one, top and bottom.
Open floor plans
Teardown rebuilds and newer townhomes bring wide openings and modern railings that need custom-fit solutions rather than an off-the-shelf gate.
Finished basements
Lower-level playrooms, utility rooms, and walk-out doors get the same walkthrough as the main floor.
Decks & patios
Deck stairs, sliding doors, and screened porches are part of the walkthrough in most Maryland homes.
