Perfect Palisades Proofing

This Palisades home’s ground floor features a wide entry hall with a painted checkerboard floor, a central formal staircase, and living and dining rooms on opposite sides of the hallway. The layout called for more than a single gate.

We installed white retractable gates across the room openings and at the top and bottom of all three staircases. Mounts on the square newel posts provide secure attachment points without fastening the gates directly to the millwork. When retracted, the gates blend discreetly into the space, preserving the home’s aesthetic design.

A Fireplace Safety Screen helps keep the baby away from the hearth while allowing the family to enjoy fires. A brass Chain Door Guard complements the existing hardware and restricts access to the garage. In the dining room, Anti-Tip Tethers anchor a glass display cabinet filled with breakables, while VHB tape helps secure low-hanging artwork.

We also installed black and brass chain locks on exterior doors and latches on kitchen drawers and cabinets. In the nursery, we secured the baby monitor and its cords out of reach and anchored the changing table, addressing everyday hazards throughout the home.
