A DC home with a curved staircase and iron banister, the kind of stair where a standard gate has nothing square to mount to.
At the bottom of the curve we installed a cafe retractable gate and black post clamps, so the iron stays untouched. A second retractable gate closes off the top of the stairs into the basement.
The kitchen and both bathrooms have painted cabinetry with a lot of drawers, so latches went on the cabinet doors and drawers throughout, including under the sinks. The furniture in the nursery, dining room, and play room was secured to prevent tip-overs. Thicker-than-standard interior doors got Glide Locks.
