WEBSITE DISCLAIMER

BY USING THE WEBSITE SAFESTARTCHILD.COM (“WEBSITE”), ANY PUBLICATION, GUIDE, OR DIGITAL CONTENT (“CONTENT”) PRODUCED BY SAFE START CHILD LLC (“SAFE START CHILD,” “WE,” “US,” OR “OUR”), OR SERVICES (“SERVICES”) PROVIDED BY SAFE START CHILD, YOU AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, DO NOT USE THE WEBSITE, CONTENT, OR SERVICES

Safe Start Child (“Safe Start,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides child safety information, installation guidance, product recommendations, and services through our website, digital resources, virtual consultations, written guides, and in-home services (collectively, the “Services”).

No Guarantee of Absolute Safety

Safe Start Child provides professional baby proofing consultation, product recommendation, and installation services designed to reduce common household hazards for infants and young children. Our services, products, and Content are intended to reduce risk. They do not eliminate it. No baby proofing product, installation, or consultation can guarantee the prevention of all injuries, accidents, or incidents.

Our Content, including but not limited to baby proofing guides, lookbooks, product guides, Home Safety Plans, blog posts, social media content, email newsletters, checklists, video content, and downloadable resources, is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. Content is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, nor a substitute for consultation with a licensed contractor, structural engineer, or other qualified professional where such expertise is warranted.

Safe Start Child is not engaged in rendering medical advice or professional safety engineering to individual users, their children, or their families. No Content on this Website, in our publications, or communicated during or after a consultation, regardless of date, should be used as a substitute for direct professional advice from your child’s pediatrician or other qualified Health Care Provider.

Acceptance of Responsibility

By accessing the Website, using our Services, or utilizing our Content, you acknowledge and agree that you are accepting responsibility for the safety and well-being of your child(ren). Our services are intended to supplement—not replace—active, attentive adult supervision. Parents and guardians remain solely responsible for the supervision and safety of their children at all times, regardless of what products have been installed or recommendations have been made. In return for Safe Start providing you with consultation services, installations, and an array of educational Content, you waive any claims that you, your child(ren), or any member of your household may have as a result of utilizing our Services or Content. To the extent you use and consider Content, information, opinions, and suggestions obtained from Safe Start, you do so at your own risk.

Scope of Service & Recommendations

Recommendations provided in the Home Safety Plan and during consultation are based on conditions observed at the time of the consultation visit and the developmental stage of the child(ren) as communicated by the client at that time. As children grow and develop new physical abilities, previously adequate safety measures may become insufficient. Safe Start Child recommends periodic re-evaluation of home safety as children reach new developmental milestones.

Certain hazards fall outside the scope of our services, including but not limited to: pool and spa barriers, structural deficiencies, mold or environmental contaminants, pest control, electrical wiring behind walls, plumbing, fire suppression systems, and any hazard requiring licensure or specialized certification to assess or remediate in a field unrelated to Safe Start’s own professional specialization as outlined by the bylaws of the International Association for Child Safety (IAFCS). If we identify a potential hazard outside our scope during consultation, we may note it as a courtesy, but such notations do not constitute a professional assessment of that hazard.

Declined Recommendations

If a client declines any recommendation made by Safe Start Child—whether during consultation, in the Home Safety Plan, or at any other time—the client assumes full responsibility for any risk associated with that declined recommendation. Safe Start Child documents declined recommendations in client records.

Third-Party Products

Safe Start Child recommends and installs products manufactured by third parties. We select products based on our professional assessment of quality and suitability, but we do not manufacture, warrant, or guarantee any third-party product. All product warranties, guarantees, and safety certifications are provided solely by the respective manufacturers. Safe Start Child does not recommend or endorse any specific medical tests, physicians, or medical products. Reliance on any product recommendation provided by Safe Start Child, its employees, or its contractors is solely at your own risk. Clients are responsible for registering products with manufacturers to receive recall notices and safety updates. Safe Start Child is not responsible for monitoring or communicating product recalls after the date of service.

Digital Content & Educational Materials

Safe Start Child may offer safety, home improvement, child development, and related information through its Website, publications, and digital channels. Such information is designed and provided for informational purposes only. Nothing on the Website or in our publications is intended to convey professional safety engineering advice, medical advice, or to constitute the practice of medicine.

Content reflects general best practices at the time of publication and may not account for your specific home layout, your child’s developmental stage, or local building codes and regulations. All installation guides, tutorials, and DIY baby proofing instructions are followed at your own risk. Safe Start Child is not responsible for improper installation, misuse of products, product failure due to incorrect installation, normal wear, or manufacturer defects, or for any resulting injury or property damage. You assume full responsibility for ensuring that products are appropriate for your home and child, that installation is performed correctly and safely, and that all safety measures are regularly inspected, maintained, and replaced as needed.

Safe Start Child reserves the right to change, update, or remove any Content at any time without notice. We make reasonable efforts to ensure Content accuracy at the time of publication, but do not warrant that Content is current, complete, or error-free. Product recommendations, safety standards, and best practices evolve. Reliance on any Content is at your own risk.

Virtual Consultations and Remote Guidance

Recommendations provided during virtual consultations are based solely on the information, images, video, and representations you provide. Safe Start Child does not independently verify the accuracy or completeness of such information and may not identify all hazards due to the inherent limitations of remote assessment. You accept that virtual guidance may not reflect the full risk profile of your environment and that Safe Start Child is not responsible for unseen, undisclosed, or changing conditions.

In-Home Services and Installation Limitations

For in-home services, Safe Start Child provides recommendations and, where applicable, installation assistance based on conditions observed at the time of service. You acknowledge that conditions may change after service, including but not limited to movement of furniture, product wear, or changes in a child’s development, and that Safe Start Child does not guarantee the ongoing effectiveness of any installation or recommendation. You remain responsible for continued supervision, maintenance, and reassessment of your environment, and Safe Start Child is not liable for injuries or damages arising after services are completed due to changes in conditions, misuse, or lack of maintenance.

No Endorsement or Certification

References to specific products, brands, or solutions are based on general experience and are not guarantees of safety or performance. Safe Start Child does not certify homes as “safe,” “child proofed,” or compliant with any regulatory or safety standard unless explicitly stated in writing.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Safe Start Child from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of or related to your use of the Services, your implementation of recommendations, your failure to properly install, maintain, or supervise your environment, or any third-party claims connected to your use of products.

Emergency and Common Sense Clause

Safe Start Child does not provide emergency services. If a child is in immediate danger or requires medical attention, you should contact emergency services or a qualified professional immediately.

Updates and Modifications

Safe Start Child reserves the right to update or modify this Disclaimer at any time without notice, and your continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of any such changes.
